The Spotlight is On
People in Forks had never had it so good, and the irony was that they didn't even know how good they had it. Their vampire population was next to nothing, the werewolves weren't running around all willy nilly and freaking out the innocent townsfolk, and the Volturi had finally decided to leave the little town be. But good things never seem to last, and before the people of Forks could somehow understand the blessing of their situation (not that they could, seeing as they had no idea about anything that was the tiniest bit unnatural) things decided to take a turn for the worse. It all started with the sudden disappearance of one Milly Evans, a young single woman of little to no consequence who had run a small local bookshop that no one paid any attention to. Perhaps disappearance is the wrong term, for Ms. Milly Evans did not simply vanish into thin air. Instead, she closed her shop out of the blue and quite literally fled Forks without any explanations whatsoever. Those who did see her before her sudden move claimed that she had looked incredibly distraught, practically petrified, and for some reason she refused point blank to give any answers as to why she was suddenly moving. While her move was the subject of gossip for a few days, interest in the quirky shop keeper quickly waned and after another week it was if she had never even existed at all, her boarded up little bookshop quickly becoming ignored.
But the sudden disappearance of their bookshop owner was not the only strange thing to happen in Forks, and it was certainly not the worst to come. Not that the humans would be able to get their minds around that. They didn't notice that after Milly's little flight newcomers started to slowly trickle into Forks at a rate never before seen. If someone had been paying close attention they might have wondered why Forks was suddenly such a desirable place to live over the course of a year, but of course no one noticed. Perhaps if they had been paying better attention, things wouldn't have gotten to the point they got to, because if they had been paying attention they would have noticed that most, if not all, of the newcomers were unnaturally pale and stunningly beautiful. But vampires weren't the only ones who were suddenly moving back to Forks. The Cullen clan had noticed the sudden influx of vampires in their old home town and guessed something fishy was going on. As such they sent Alice and Jasper to keep an eye on things in the town in order to make sure things weren't getting out of control. Still, seeing as those who would recognize the two are still around they aren't really making themselves known. Twenty years have passed since the Cullens left, but that doesn't mean that people would just forget who they were.
In any case, the once peaceful Forks was once again bristling with vampires and La Push churned out a new pack in order to meet the growing threat. As of yet, both sides have avoided trouble for the most part, but nothing seems to be guaranteed. As if the possibility of an all out war between werewolves and vampires wasn't bad enough, the Volturi have begun to take an interest in why so many vampires are taking an interest in Forks. Not that their investigations are getting them anywhere, seeing as none of the new vampires really seem to understand why they felt drawn to this place. All they know is they just had a 'feeling' that they were supposed to go there, so they did. It all just gets even more confusing when Alice is unable to see the future in order to figure out just what is going on in Forks. She can see to a certain point, but whenever she tries to see beyond a white veil descends over her vision and she swears she hears a voice whisper patience is a virtue, you know.
Whatever is going on in Forks it certainly is not good, and many of the new vampires are getting the funniest of feelings that there is something more than meets the eye to all of this. Not to mention the fact that they all feel like something, or someone, is watching them.
Important Things to Note
- One year ago, a vampire named Vivelle Grey attacked humans throughout the woods around Forks. Luckily no one was killed, and the incident was brushed off as bear attacks. Vivelle was driven off after a confrontation involving the La Push pack, but will she stay away for good...?
- Due to an edict passed by the Cullens, hunting humans is strictly forbidden in Forks. All vampires staying there must either survive as "vegetarians" or hunt elsewhere.
Who We Are
Forever and a Day is a literate Twilight roleplaying site set post Breaking Dawn (in case you didn't catch that in the plot). We are pretty small (scratch that, VERY small) but that means we have a big long list of canons that haven't even been touched. So, feel free to give us a visit, or whatever. (:
