Supernova- a star that explodes and becomes extremely luminous in the process
Ten years have passed since the Volturi decided not to destroy little Renesmee Carlie, and since then the supernova has been building. She reached full maturity in seven years, looking and thinking like a twenty-one year old though in truth she was only a little girl. Her parents are unendingly proud of her, having been able to watch their little girl work her way through high school and graduate this past summer. She and Jacob are attached at the hip, spending as much of the available twenty-four hours a day in each other's company. All this shared time and her newfound womanhood are making her see her childhood friend in a new light, and a light that is making her head spin. Should she be feeling this way about her best friend? What if he doesn't return the feelings? Will it make things weird? What will her parents say?
Things aren't exactly easy for her parents either. Edward is getting anxious as he realizes Nessie's not his little girl anymore, and is unsure he's ready to let her go. While Bella is just as upset by it, she's taken the last seven years to prepare herself, and isn't exactly pleased with her husband's worrying. Things are definitely shaky between the two lately, and Charlie's condition isn't helping things at all on Bella's part. Her father's condition has been getting steadily worse over the past year, and things aren't looking up. In fact, doctors are saying it's unlikely he'll live through the winter. Having just lost Renee to a violent plane crash, her emotional stability is likely to crumble if her father is to leave her as well.
While Jacob is exceedingly happy as he notices Nessie coming to terms with her feelings, a new stress factor has been brought into his life as well. It has been long believed that his mother, Sarah Black, died in a car crash when her son was only two. Only the family and the pack know differently. Sarah Black was attacked vicicously by a vampire while walking back from the beach one night, bitten and left to become a creature of the night. Upon discovering what had happened to his wife, Billy was devastated, but kept good face, passing the death off as an accident and insiting on a closed-casket ceremony. Now, Sarah has returned home, inspiring mixed feelings throughout the reservation.
How will the Cullens react to this new discovery? Will the pack honor the treaty and attack, or hold back because of Sarah's relationship to Billy and Jacob? And what sort of strain will it put on Jacob and Nessie's relationship?
