The beginning.
The diary of sergeant Andrews.
The world was pretty messed up back then I must admit. No one was listing to each other. There was always a war going on somewhere you cold hardly trust your neighbor. It had leaked out that the government had started doing something to help “solve the problem”. They gave no further information.
In all reality we where hoping on solving the problem of killing off these people that where causing the problems. A disease no one had heard of before. We where still working out all the flaws of it on some animals but then they became immune to it so… well we had to use prisoners.
We had gotten all the kinks out of it and let lose in a prison (just to try it out) It worked… very… well. So well it was almost scary. We paid the media to be quiet and we all pushed it under the rug. But before we could contain the disease it got lose and killed a man about 34 who had helped us.
He was heading home to a small town in barshallow, he had made it and we watched the town carefully for any sing it was growing there.
It was. 84 year old Chirsten Anthems was found at her house hold the disease on her whole body. She was alive and was rushed to the hospital where no one knew what was wronge and because we had yet to find a cure for it she died. Two days later.
The Disease.

We new that the disease was a nasty one. It was made to be nasty. But it is basically a little parasite. Designed to be like a piranha, eat anything that bleeds. We think it moves from body to body through a open cut. Attracted to the scent of blood.
From there it goes straight to the cartilage of your body and just munches away. Then it goes to your skin and eats at you till you are just muscle and bone. Then it leave for someone else.
The people who got this disease had no idea. One day they itched so the scratched and their skin pulled off and there they have it. People who get this disease become violent and that is how most other people got cuts, so the disease can move on.
Another thing this disease was only designed to go after adults. We did not want children tossed into this. We where unsure how young it would eat you at but when we did we where horrible upset. It took just about 3 days to eat you. If it was starving it could take 2 in a half. Nasty I tell you.
25 years old, you practically are at your prime. When I found this out I was horror stricken. 25, I had just turned 32. I did not care about that. My son. He was only ten, how could I leave him? We had to find a cure, I could not leave Clayton.
Back to reality.
Perspective of 16 year old James Korent
Everyone was gone, all the adult at least. It’s been about a year or so. The town Barshallow because of it being the first town to officially get the disease was put into a lock down. No one leaves no one come back. They had to build an orphanage to home all the kids that had lost there parents but then they just gave up. I think that was the key. Everyone gave up they didn’t want to cure the disease anymore the just wanted to spend time with their familes till they died.
No one cared about the parents that where still alive. We where getting food by plains everyone other week. But soon they just stopped coming. We wheren’t starving we had fields to grow food in but if the parents told their kids how to do it I was unsure.
I was so unsure of how we where all going to surive all by ourselves. We where teenagers. Most of hadn’t even gone through the ‘who am I?’ stage. This couldn’t work out.
Superman. I wonder if he would have made it through this? I am unsure. But I know for a fact when he got his power he must have been through a heck of a lot of pain. I was.
I noticed the changed in everyone. Some where scared of getting their powers. Others, they used them to hurt people they hated. Others, they just used them to use them.
Ice, fire, wind, headaches, screaming. It was all over the place, no order. We had to stop this. I helped us split into sides. Not really a good and evil side. Most people just stayed with their friends.
The disease still showed up. When someone hit 25 years old we all said our god byes and waited. It didn’t always show up right away. There was this one guy we heard about that had stayed alive for two weeks before it hit him. Most of us only last only 4 days though.
Friends and enimeys are all we have in this short life. Nothing more, (besides super powers) but that doesn’t matter anymore. We all need to move on and live by the rules now. Fight for a reason to be alive otherwise someone might just take that reason for themselves.
